WA-10 is a benchtop water activity meter built around a high-precision, stable sensor made in the USA. Water activity (aw) describes how tightly water is bound inside a sample — it is the relative humidity of the air in equilibrium with the sample in a sealed chamber. That single number predicts microbial growth, chemical and biochemical reaction rates, and the physical stability of a product, so it drives colour, odour, flavour, texture and shelf life.

The instrument reads 0.010–0.990 aw with 0.001 aw resolution and ±0.014 aw accuracy at 25 °C, reaching a result in about 10–15 minutes. Operation is entirely through the 7-inch 800 × 480 touch screen: set the backlight brightness, follow the live detection curve, and print the result on the built-in micro printer for immediate paper records. RS232 output is available for connecting to a PC. Calibration is automatic, using saturated NaCl standard solution with correction-value compensation.
