Keywords: digital tachometer, stroboscope tachometer, photo stroboscope 2 in 1, non-contact tachometer, rpm meter
DT2240E 2-in-1 digital tachometer and stroboscope for contact-free rotational speed measurement.
The DT2240E is a 2-in-1 digital tachometer and stroboscope that measures rotational speed both photoelectrically and stroboscopically. In photoelectric mode it reads 2.5 to 99999 RPM without contact by reflecting light off a strip of reflective tape on the shaft; in stroboscope mode it freezes fast-moving objects with 120 to 20000 FPM flashes, so rotating parts can be inspected as if they were standing still. A 10.00 MHz quartz crystal time base keeps the readings stable, and 12 commonly used strobe values can be pre-stored and recalled with one key. It is compact enough to hold in one hand, which makes speed checks on motors, fans, pumps and production machinery quick and repeatable.
1. 2-in-1 design — photoelectric tachometer and stroboscope in one handheld unit, switched by a single measuring mode button.
2. MCU technology — adopts microcomputer technology (MCU) and anti-interference technology for stable readings.
3. Ultra-large LCD — ultra-large screen LCD ensures clear reading and ignores the difference.
4. Pre-storage function — stores 12 commonly used strobe data values for instant recall.
5. Flexible adjustment — the stroboscopic adjustment methods include single-step adjustment, continuous adjustment and coarse and fine adjustment.
Every part the operator touches is designed for routine rotational speed work — the light source, the reading and the controls.

Stick a piece of reflective tape on the shaft end face of the object to be measured. The meter emits light through the photoelectric speed detection lens; the reflective tape returns it, and the meter glows red as it receives the reflected light. Because the reflection is counted optically, no contact with the rotating shaft is needed, which makes the DT2240E suitable for motors, fans, pumps, conveyor rollers, printing rollers and textile machinery where a mechanical contact tachometer cannot reach or would be unsafe.
| Measurement button | Starts the measurement in the selected mode |
| Measuring mode switch button | In photoelectric mode, short press selects the measurement; in strobe mode, short press selects coarse and fine tune and the default strobe value |
| On / off button | In photoelectric mode it is the memory value reading key; in strobe mode it is the pre-stored strobe value call-up key |
| Strobe lamp holder | The strobe light source at the bottom of the unit, used for stroboscopic inspection |
1. Non-contact rotational speed measurement of motors, fans, pumps, rollers and drive belts.
2. Freezing fast-moving parts to inspect gear meshing, belt motion and surface defects.
3. Printing, textile and packaging machinery where reflective tape cannot be fitted.
4. Preventive maintenance checks and production line speed verification.
5. Teaching and laboratory demonstrations of the stroboscopic effect.
